World-class research and development environment
Located in the technology park are the Fiber Laboratory and the Industrial Wood Construction Laboratory of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), as well as the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).

University and higher education collaboration
South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) provides bachelor's degree engineering education in process engineering and industrial wood construction within the technology park area. A professorship in bioproduct technology from Aalto University also operates within the park.
The professor is responsible, among other things, for developing collaboration between the university and South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) in Savonlinna, as well as supervising master’s theses.
